Weak Signal on S11 openbox HD

I just swopped my sky box to an S11 openbox HD. The HD signal for some channels are good, but some giving no signal or really weak signal strength for some SD and HD channels. There were no problems with the skybox on any of the SD channels. Is there something I can check or do before moving or replacing dish or LNB?

I have the same problem with the S10, it's due the tuner being poorer than the sky one apparently. Fitting a better quality LNB will sort it apparently or also check the current lnb isn't being miss aligned if you have more than one co ax connected.

I think you need a thing called an in line sloped amplifier,13-17db placed between lnb and receiver to sort this problem.apparently the openbox series certain batches of models can't switch the lnb over to the vertical tp's cos of something to do with tuner.seemingly one of these fixes it.

Edit: Phillips AMP6600 Tilted Line amp 13 - 17 dB
    Something like this

Ya, I've ordered a inline 13 18 db sloped amplifier, found similar fix on another forum, apparently it can happen if signal strength is less than 50%. On my sky box showing at around 50%. I've ordered 1 from ebay to see if this will fix it (€9 ). If this doesn't fix it I'll probably have to look at changing LNB & dish, only have the smaller sky dish & has a quad lnb.

The smaller Sky dish won't be helping your signal quality and strength.

fitted 13 to 18 amp, on sky box signal strength up to 100% but signal quality stayed the same. when swopped open box got same issue as before. Messed around with lnb settings, selected different setting, got some more channels to come in. The box came pre-programmed to satalite sky uk 28.2( assume they changed the name) I selected Eurobird 2 satalite 25.5 as well & redid search, This brought in most of the channels and no issues with the signal strength on eurobird 2. Problem fixed for this. but setting the favourites to select the E2 sat is doing my f...en head in. u can download lists from web but I think they are for 28.2 sat. The SW will only let me edit to the 1st list. Can't see anyway to edit for other favourite folders. leaving it alone before I kick the box into next week, I suppose if u buy cheap u can't expect to get normal easy to use SW systems. But HD quality is great, even on 720 HD ready tv, far superior to SD channels.

Why don't you try the pre made channel lists and see if they work for you, I would always use them, saves me the hassle of arranging them.

Will probably try 1 or 2 lists but I think most are on the 28.2 Sat where with my set-up is picking up poor signal on some of the channels from this Sat & good signal from 25.2 sat. Anyway if that doesn't work there are probably more user friendly 'images' that will let me edit favourites to the way I prefer. Don't like doing this as I'm not program savie & there's a risk if it's done wrong, end up bricking box.

Just use a premade one and edit the irish channels where you want em. Make sure lnb freq is set to 9750-10600.

Updated firmware which had fav list with it. Got it on satboxes.com forum. All problems with low signal strength on 28.2 sat disappeared. working well now.
