Haven't heard anything good or bad about this film but saw this on the news this morning which pricked my interested. It looks interesting.

I saw it at JDIFF. It's a very enjoyable adult thriller and we don't get many of them anymore. Here's what I wrote at the time:
    Headhunters

I saw this at JDIFF today, but I trust it will pop up in the IFI before long. It’s a Norwegian cat-and-mouse thriller about a professional art thief who picks the wrong target: a former mercenary (Jamie Lannister from GOT) who specialises in tracking people down. Numerous twists and turns follow.

Darkly comic and gruesomely violent, the film takes an almost perverse satisfaction in torturing its protagonist. Unfortunately, hard as it tries, No Country for Old Men this is not. I enjoyed it, but as European thrillers go this is closer to Cell 211 than Tell No One. Which is to say it’s very entertaining and well made, but hasn’t enough going on in terms of story to make me ever want to revisit it. Nevertheless, it’s an extremely well paced and smartly (if somewhat absurdly) plotted thriller that doesn’t take itself too seriously. It’s also got a smokin’ hot chick.

I assume the obligatory Hollywood remake is already in the works.

I saw this yesterday at my local cinema and it was pretty good. There are some plot contrivances, but overall it was decent enough - filmed with flair and it zips along at a good pace. I think the highlight of the film was
the darkly farcical segment between Roger having to hide underneath the outhouse (using only a toilet roll cylinder to breathe through) and making his escape via tractor, with the dead dog still impaled on the front of it
    .

It's a decent enough thriller; while there are plot contrivances in there I don't think they're any worse than what you get in the Millenium trilogy, for example.

I caught it at the Lighthouse in Smithfield yesterday, I really enjoyed it, it's been a long time since I've watched a thriller from between my fingers and on the edge of my seat. It has real heart too, Rogers progression from slimey to sympathetic is very well handled by the lead actor.

Saw it at the wekend and it was excellent.
Forget the plot contrivances and just sit back for the rollercoaster ride that this film is.

Only downside for me is I saw it in IMC in Dun Laoghaire and the guy in front of me stuck his head in front of the subtitles so I was craning my neck to keep up.

This is the most far fetched brilliance you will see this year! It is very well directed / scripted /acted and enthralled piece of work, and yes there is a 6 foot 3 tall Blonde babe in it ,and yes there is a hollywood remake in the works with Mark Walberg

    8.5 /10

We are reviewing this on Is It A Bicycle this evening (episode to be released on Friday 27th). I think this film is good conversation piece for sure and I enjoyed watching it, worth a look for sure.
Also, it made me happier that I am tall :)

Watched this last night and thought it was very good fun, albeit a little too contrived at times to warrant much thought. Tara Brady put it well: that it moves so fast, you're kind of unable to dwell on its silliness or plethora of conveniences while watching. This is an extremely well paced film, and after its comparatively considered opening doesn't really let up for the duration. It reminded me of Killer Joe, actually: the same mix of demented thrills and dark comedy. Similarly, most of the characters are absolutely deplorable human beings, including Roger himself.

The ending was far too neat, and the whole thing is completely absurd, but at the same time most of the odd story eccentricities are there for a reason. Even the
    obese policemen
, which I initially thought was just going to be a tonally awkward visual gag. It's a film with an interesting tone and pace, and while it's largely devoid of anything other than surface level entertainment, it keeps you engrossed for an hour and half through its ludicrous but undeniably entertaining tale of misfortune, scheming and unpleasantness. Good fun.
