    Quick question - If I just have the above on a pc can I connect to the internet? Do i need any other additional software?

    Nothing else required, Windows 7 Professional will connect you to the interwebs, if you're happy with Internet Explorer. ;)

    Not quite, if its a fresh install there's a good chance you'll need drivers for your network card. Depending on whether you are connecting via wireless or ethernet, you should look for the appropriate drivers.

    Well, if Windows 7 Professional came preinstalled on the computer, you needn't worry, it will work out of the box.
