    Thanks in advance

Thanks. Have you used this one yourself? Could you explain feels like a real tablet

What I'm looking for is an internet device that will be used occasionally by an an adult & child, connecting to the internet via fixed-line broadband to avoid 3G/WI-FI radiation.

Would the model mentioned be suitable do you think?

    GET the archos 101 G9,it has latest android os, 199 g9 , pcworld,power city,
then buy an adaptor usb to ethernet ,no drivers needed.adaptor cost 20 euro.
    7hours battery life ,2years gaurantee,
    see here http://www.techradar.com/reviews/pc-mac/tablets/archos-101-g9-1036372/review
8gig built in storage.connects to hdtv, plays 1080p video.
Make sure its the latest model, with android, honeycomb os.
I prefer to buy a tablet in a shop, rather than save 20 euro buying from a website, you get a gaurantee and you are supporting the local economy.

Wifi operates in (as well as the 5Ghz range) also the 2.4Ghz range. a bandwidth widely shared by things like Microwaves and Cellular phones.

Guess what? If you can pick up a phone signal in your home, that means there is cellular "radiation" in your home. All over it. With or without your phone. It emanates from Cellular Towers. And your neighbors Wifi spot. You name it. That entire spectrum is filling up your home whether you are aware of it or not. I've got signals from at least 6 of my neighbors, and 3 cellular network providers filling my house right this minute. Nevermind radio and television waves, satellite broadcasts, etc.

Any studies about wifi data resulting in ionizing radiation are sketchy at best and relate to having phones too close to your body and such. Then you have to have an entire discussion about ionizing radiation that happens naturally in the world around you. Bananas much? It's not an underestimation to say your child has a greater chance of receiving ionizing radiation exposure from playing outside than they do from playing with an iPad.
