I did this run last year. It was really enjoyable, beautiful course with the most challenging hill I have ever seen on the last km of a race course.
If you know it's there you can really use it to your advantage and pick up a couple of places, and it's a great feeling at the top.
Apart from that it's a great route with a good atmosphere at the start/finish. If I'm not on holidays I plan to do it again.
Hope the weather is kinder this year.

With 2 weeks to go just bubbling this one back up for discussion.
If you fancy running 7 on the 7th of 7th and 100% of the entry fee goes to the Bray Cancer Support Group.
There's a few meetings on this week if you have questions I do my best to get answers.

Looking forward to tacking that final hill again! 28:25 last year, should be able to shave a bit off that this year.

Hopefully weather is a little more favourable this time to enjoy a post-race burger and beer.

Bit of a family affair for me is this event. My cousin is an organiser, Dad is flipping burgers, Mum is handling cash, plenty of family members running....all to support my amazing aunt's charity.

Over 2000ft of elevation gain according to this garmin trace. Surely that cant be right??? If it is this race has more climbing than any IMRA race I've done:o

    It's a bit lumpy alright with a drag at the end - but I don't think it's 2k feet ;)

Took a look at my Garmin readings for this race last year - 796ft of elevation gain (almost 300ft of it coming in the 400 metre stretch just before the finish!).

    Looking forward to this tomorrow.

Superb organization, amazing setting.. Course could do with an extra mile or two of flat though! It's basically 1 mile of up, 2.5 miles of down, and a half mile of up again! Would be lovely to take the race along the entrance for a mile, which has just the most incredible view with the SugarLoaf staring down at you in the distance, but it's just a great experience to be running in Powerscourt at all. Really enjoyable race, in a very friendly relaxed environment.

Did you get your M40 prize? They were calling your name for a while.

I surely did. I went out for a post-race warm-down and them bumped into some friends I hadn't seen in years (in truth, I just like to hear my name being called out over the PA. :)).

Great event blessed by glorious sunshine. Good race for me (27:37 and 9th place - 1 minute faster than last year, but same finish position), even if the finish line clock had me 45 seconds faster! Looking forward to next year's event already. Bring back the beer to go with the burgers!

Great day yesterday and this year the weather gods were kind as a real summer's day was sandwiched in between some not so nice days. I'm always amazed at the eagerness and the willingness of the volunteers that come out to support the Bray Cancer Support Center on their many activities.
Mick Byrne from Parnell AC won the race overall putting in a killer kick on the final climb and Grace O'Rourke from DSD was first women.
Thanks to everyone who ran and supported.
