File does not contain image data

I've a Nikon D3000 and have a problem with a batch of photos I took today.

On the camera itself when in "Play mode" the images do not show, instead the message "File does not contain image data" displays.

I can transfer the files off of the camera to my hard drive and I can see the files (.nef) are roughly the same size as other working .nef files so there must be some image data inside them.

Trying to open them with Photoshop errors out and Picasa doesn't seem to respond, no error at all, just does not open them.

Is anyone aware of any nef repair software? Or any editing software which might have more success opening corrupt files?

Sounds like a corrupt card or the camera has done something in translation.
