    Mirror Mirror

Didnt see a thread on this one. Instead of "In a world..." it starts with "Once upon a time..." :D

Looks like a total throw away movie, no real redeeming features, telegraphed laughs, snow white has a mono brow and the prince looks like Zach Morris. Though I'll probably go see it this weekend as its been a while since I've had any over priced popped corn :D

Nah, she doesn't; just really thick, really dark ones.

I'm confident that this will be bad, but I'm looking forward to seeing it all the same as I'm partial to anything fairy-tale related. It can't be as bad as Red Riding Hood... surely...

Lily Collins just looks way too young compared to Armie Hammer as the prince

Went to see this on Wedensday, have to say i was pleasantly surprised by it, i thought it would be decent but thats all really going by the trailer.
pretty great bit of escapism there, a good few actual laughs in it and a pleasant but not too saccharine ending, really liked it! :)

Brought my daughter to this the other day. As a man I have to say I was quite impressed. It is not quite how the fairytale goes.
The daughter loved it too. Some great family humour and Julia Roberts was very good.

So I saw this today and I have to say I really enjoyed it. Its kind of in the same vein as Enchanted but not quite as good.

This one though was funny, charming, tongue in cheek with an entertaining story. There were a lot of kids in the screening with me and they all seemed enthralled but it was the adult laughter that rang round the room at certain times that show the mark of a movie hitting its mark.

    6/10

I can't say that I know all the details of the Snow White story, it seems that there wer many alterations done.
Found it very entertaining, a laugh here and there, loved Nathan Lane doing his usual thing and (guilty as charged) I have a soft spot for Julia.
Plus, last time I saw costumes designed by the amazing Eiko Ishioka who passed away couple of months ago.
Awful song at the end credits though, don't you think?

2025 gigs: Selofan, Alison Moyet, Borderline Festival, Wardruna, Gavin Friday, Orla Gartland, The Courettes, Nine Inch Nails

Yeah! What the hell was all that about. It was like a Bollywood number that did not tie in with the rest of the movie at all. Very confusing.
