    Hey everyone

Im looking for some advice re: social welfare. Here's my story :

Im a mother of 3 living with partner who is in fulltime work earning 500 nett per week. Im about to have my illness benefit stopped . I applied for invalidity pension 5 weeks ago , still waiting. I expect i will be refused but plan to appeal on the grounds of extra evidence. This whole process Im being told could take 8 months. In the meantime I've been onto community welfare who say we are not entitled to anything while i wait as partner earns too much. Thats all well and good , but of that 500 half goes on personal loans and utilities. My illness benefit is what was paying mortgage. So now were faced with no income on my behalf whatsoever. Obviously we are seriously worried that we will lose house . Do any of you know if there is anything we can do. Should i apply for a different claim , Im desperate at this stage and would really appreciate any advice.

Have you considered looking into FIS?
I know it takes a long time for claims to be assessed and come through but its possibly an option for your family. Your partner would have to make the claim.

Have you also looked into MIS too? I dont know the criteria for being eligible for that.

Anytime I need advice I ring the citizens information and ask them, they always seem to know. I personally have been told one thing by my CWO or by someone in the social welfare office.....only to find out that their information was wrong.
ALWAYS double check the information they give you.

If you have more evidence to support your Invalidity pension claim please send it immediately, dont forget to include a covering page including your name address PPSN and DOB. There is no point waiting to be refused first.
