was it firing normally before it cracked? what brand of aeg is it?

Replace it straight away, casings aint much considering a cracked shell can lead to more problems and hence more money spent!

The problem is that your gearbox has a jaysus big crack in it. What's not to understand?

Was firing find then I installed a mosfet then it went down about 100fps, so i just wanna make sure its the crack and not something silly i did when re-assembling the gearbox. Its a king arms m4.

There generally a very good gearbox bit unusual for them to crack, It probably was cracking internally out of view and when you installed the fet it completely went then.

What i did notice is that your cylinder drilled (if its ported my apologies but it looks drilled), any idea what size spring you have running in it?

Like gerrow said its a pretty significant crack so yea that jaysus crack is the problem.

yeah thats not the original cylinder i put that in after i noticed the problems.... You see when i opened the box i noticed the original cylinder had no ports( 2nd hand, from an spr) the piston also had a large slice took out of it on the top rear dont ask me why I assume it has something to do with the lack of ports. So iv changed both with some spares i had lying around. The hole you see is covered with some sellotape and a small bit of glue (as its one of those non friction coated ones) which does the job for now!

That's odd, was it a metal cylinder head or polycarb??

Your loss in power could now be down to the fact that you have a ported cylinder with a m90 spring you might be losing compression somewhere, try some epoxy bonding putty sets like concrete and you can sand it down!! But seriously get a new gearbox case.

polycarbonate.loss of power was there BEFORE i changed the cylinder and piston, so the crack appeared with the completely blank cylinder installed. Im after sourcing a case here on boards thanks to DeBurca
