Internal SD Card Reader Not Working on Samsung N145 Netbook Query

Hi folks;
I have a Samsung n145plus net-book and I cannot see the card reader in device manager. When i put in a sdhc card into the reader, windows makes the usual sound to say it has recognized a devise but that's as far as it goes. Windows then slows up really bad and the only place I can locate the card is in "devices and printers". When I attempt to access the card there, the computer practically freezes up completely.
Its a new card and it works perfectly when I use it in a camera connected with a usb cable.
I had windows re-installed recently; I'm pretty sure it has something to do with this as the card reader worked perfect before.
I cannot find any assistance on Samsung website in regards to a driver or software for the card reader. It is (was) a 4 in 1 reader that is on the net-book.
Like I said when I look in device manager and under disc drives, all that is there is the main hard drive for the net book.
Any help really appreciated folks!:)

Some Euroshops do USB readers for €2 - might keep you going until you get it sorted.
