Hi, just wondering whats with all the planes flying North over Bray to Dublin Airport recently? Have the flight paths changed or something? Not complaining by the way, just curious :D

    Yes, runway work. http://www.dublinairport.com/gns/at-the-airport/latest-news/12-04-04/Dublin_Airport_Notice.aspx
I've noticed it alot around Santry, planes flying low over houses every few minutes since Monday.

Latest wind at the field is 040 Degrees@15kts,which translates into a light to moderate North Easterly.

Parked up for 20 mins on the way home this evening and it was great to see 34 in use. It's a rare sight these days. The last time I recall it being used was 2-3 years ago when there was evening works on 28/10. I'm sure it was used intermittently since then, but not that I noticed.

I waited to see the ~17:00 New York flight head out. It would be interesting to see how much of 34 a heavily laden 330 used. However, my hopes were dashed when it was given clearance for 28. Ah well, nice to see plenty of take offs and landings on 34 including EI-DVM taking off.

For those more knowledgeable - does landing on 34 give pilots much of a work out in these conditions since it doesn't have ILS?

Were now into the night time runway works period. So it was going to be 16 or 34 for the night anyway.

It isnt too hard as long as you nail your Rate of Descent and speed to keep in the protected profile...couple that with the missed approach point being about 6DME from the VOR(as the VOR is a couple of miles beyond the runway) and it's certainly more challenging, but nothing too serious.

Fairly regular occurence when 16/34 is in use.
