Me and my partner looking to go on a budget break probably 11th-18th August. Looking up places and cant seem to find anything under the e500 mark. We have approx e350- e400 each to spend on flights/ accomodation.

Just wondering can anybody recommend any nice place to visit that would be relaxing, with a beach nearby and still have a nightlife (not like Ibiza or ayia napa) just normal night life with an atmosphere.

We dont really mind where we go as long as its hot and has a beach.

Also are we better off booking flights and accomodation seperately or together?

Would self catering accomodation be cheaper than a hotel in the long run??

Any help would be greatly appreciated, first time to travel outside ireland. :)

    Hi there,

I'm new to boards, but just seen your thread.
Myself & my boyfriend went to Albufeira last year and it was a great spot. We booked through Travel Republic for both the flights and accommodation. It was quite reasonable. The accommodation was the Club Praia De Oura, mind you we booked a studio (we hadn't a clue) but this was basically one room with kitchenette and your bathroom. Next time id go for the one bedroom apartment. But as for the location we were 5 min walk to beach & 5 min the other way to the strip (Pubs, Clubs & Restaurants).
Sometimes it is better to book your flights and accommodation seperate but it just depends, it was working out more or less the same through Travel Republic so just went with that.

    Hope this helped :)

    Try here- http://www.lowcostholidays.ie/

Looks like you can get flight and accom(self catering) for around €350 per person in the Algarve for your dates.Or you can choose other resorts in Spain.

    Hi,

I was in Albufeira too last year and it was amazing. I booked with www.clickandgo.com and I can definitely recommend them. Great holidays and great value. Portugal is amazing and the accommodation standard is much better than in Spain for the same price. I booked flights and accommodation with them but it really depends on the dates as they use Aer Lingus flights so sometimes it might be better to book accommodation only. The property was called BaySide Salgados and we had excellent time there.

    I hope it helps.

We booked a studio apartment and flights to Tenerife with Ryanair for next september for €710. Although not my favourite airline we could'nt turn down those prices. The apartments are the Tinerife Garden, Costa Adeje. ww.tinerfegarden.com
