Niiiiice. IMHO column wheel chronographs are the sexah. At that price for a non vintage? Bargain IMHO. In a bricks and mortar shop expect a good chunk off the price I reckon.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

Interesting, the article linked by the OP mentions that this watch was given to the winner of the Kentucky Derby. Now, it's a seriously nice watch, but I'm not sure it would look quite right on a horse!

Applebys are listed as a Longines retailer. I bought my wife's engagement ring & our wedding rings there so they give us a good chunky discount.

It's one I'd consider as a formal (non-everyday) watch if I could get a nice price!

Funny - i've been looking at the same watch recently. Weirs have them in the window on Grafton Street at about €2450, something like that.
I tried one on in Dublin airport last Thursday - they're €2145 there, but i would look to be getting a better discount than that if i ever make up my mind to get one. Beautiful watch IMHO
