    Cheers

Sorry if the first post wasn't clear- I WAS registered with them, but on socs day I had to write down my info (none of that fancy scanning) and I don't think it was ever put up online

What's the society? Some don't use the socs mail service.

Cén tsochaí é? Ní úsáideann gach tsochaí an séirbhís céanna.

It's FEE, I think I've also been signed up to a ULA mailing list (which I have no recollection of signing up for) and none of their messages mention anything about opting out

Just send them an email asking to unsubscribe. That should work.

Sure I'll give it a go, I just feel awkward breaking up with a society directly, I much prefer the "Move my stuff out while she's away at work" approach

I didn't realise people had that kind of relationship with society mailing lists :P

Ní raibh fhios agam go raibh an cineál caidrimhe sin ag daoine le liostaí seolta cumainn :p

It could just be me personally, I can talk to lecturers/ societies in person no bother, I just feel weird sending an email. Like if I make a mistake or say something stupid, they have evidence of that crap. Just for themselves. Forever.

A better method is to email the Socsbox and explain the situation to them if you were signed up to additional mailing lists without your express permission.

Their email address is at the bottom of http://socs.nuigalway.ie/

FEE aren't a society, are you sure the emails are from them directly as they shouldn't really have access to socs mailing lists?
It may be, and is quite likely that another society is sending mails 'on behalf of' FEE. As you mentioned ULA, this is probably the case.
Fire your details (full name, email, student no) to socsbox@socs.nuigalway.ie and somebody will take alook at your yourspace acount. Probably you just need to unsubscribe from ULA there, but if anything odd is going on it can be looked at.
Bear in mind the socsbox will be closed part of next week for BICS awards so a reply might take a bit longer than usual.

This has got nothing to do with the SocsBox so don;t bother emailling them. pm me your email address and I will have you removed from mailing list
