sorry for bombarding the boards with questions but all this is new to me,
    here goes

hubby out sick from work due to stress of his job, but is currently looking for another job in the mean time...so he gets a call and mite have an oppertunity of 16-20hrs work at the w/end , but he would need to pack his current full time job in which would be no problem! as id rather see him out of it rather than him being ill over it (i know times are hard but theres a limit) anywhoo if he packs his f/t job in what way would it work if he was to go on jsb & work his 20hrs he is being offered? because he hands his notice in would social welfare make him wait 9wks to recieve any payment or what way do they work it, nothing is set in stone as he has an interview so no saying he would get it but we need to sort something just unsure as he is "technically employed"...we will no more details after this interview as it may lead to a 40hr week and on the up side it would be more experience....

It's problem too late to reply to you but I'll put my two cent in....

He'll probably get his jobseekers stopped for 9-13weeks as he has giving up his job by free will. However you could always get certs from the doctor to say he's out on stress and attach that to the open claim. The social will be aware he's currently out of work on certs (assuming he's claiming illness benefit)

I was in the same situation a few months ago. But i quit the job (due to stress) to take up a p/t job in the area i'm qualified in and when i went to sign on x's and o's. SWO said I wouldn't be entitled to anything of them, as I wasn't down and hours or had a loss of earnings as far as they were concerned
