Men's Shoe Trees....

Ok so this may only be loosely connected with fashion but it appears to be the best place to post this question....

I'm looking for shoe trees at the moment but don't seem to be able to find anywhere in Ireland that supplies them. Has anyone got any suggestions of where I could pick some up? I'd prefer not to get stung by the nasty shipping charges I'm seeing on Amazon and Ebay....

Also as an aside I'd be very interested if anyone has any tips for keeping the leather from cracking at the front of the shoe.....

What do you mean at the front? Do you mean where the shoe hinges when you walk? Leather cracks when it's too dry. You need to keep it polished/creamed and dry it naturally when it gets wet - with a shoe tree or some stuffed up news paper inside - but not beside the radiator. Also, it could be the case the the shoe is too big for you and hence the excessive cracking at the hinge point.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but you can get cedar shoe trees in ecco for €20 a pair.

Thats pretty good value, I've paid similar money for wooden sets (not cedar) off Amazon. These are a must if you've spend big on shoes, well worth the investment.

Proper shoe trees are more like this:

You can buy them in the pound shop for two euros and they do the same job

I have 4 pairs and my shoes are worth 100 euros each

That's not much for good shoes...

Only a cedar or other wood shoe tree will have the strength to reshape the shoe and the ability to absorb odours and sweat.

    Pavers.co.uk occasionally run sales where they're £5 a set.

Are they actually good for reshaping shoes? It takes me an age to wear in shoes properly and wondering if a shoe tree will actually reduce the pinching/blister stage.

Tesco selling Beechwood shoe trees similar to the Ecco ones for €10 now, from a UK company.
