Any idea where could one buy decent bar stools that are not complete crap or overly expensive. Something in 150 Euro range. I would prefer modern style but vintage with a twist would work too.

Ikea and Homestore and More are selling bar stools for shag all euros at the moment.

I don't like the ones in the Homestore (or Woodies and gazillion other websites). I like some in Ikea but they are better suited to smaller kitchens. Basically I want designer stuff for normal prices. :D

But you still commented on another post and said you looked that that companies website.

So Im just giving you a few other places to look at and give your opinion on.

    Regards.

Thanks for all the sugestions. I'll check some. There seem to be three choices Caligaris in all expensive shops, the cheaper ones which seem to be supplied by the same crowd to all other furniture places and Ikea. There must be more than three producers of bar stools in the world. :D

They have some nice ones in Kian and in Home Couture just off the Naas road (turn left at McDonalds and go over the canal bridge). Different to the moulded plastic styles in Homebase etc. I took some photos when I was shopping last weekend - how do I post them here?

Thanks. Kian seem to have some interesting stuff.

If you have an idea of a design you would like I can make them for you no problem at all.

Are you serious with this post? Can you really make bar stools to specific design? I have a design in mind which i have yet to find in stores anywhere, if youre serious i could PM you details?? :)

Ya I can make them no problem at all so long as they are mainly wood. Can include metal in the design of them also.

Thank you, sadly the type i want is more rattan than all wood.
Something similar to this picture. Thank you....

Those look like Neptune bar stools. i doubt you'll find something like that for under 150. If you're looking for vintage inexpensive i seen some unusual types on this web http://lornaogrowney.com/news/style-file-bar-stools-june-2012[/URL]

Don't be fooled by the website, or by hearing that Ikea is great for small homes, all their stuff is quite large in my experience, nearly always larger than the "Irish" equivalent.

Either check out the measurements listed on the website or go to the shop and see for yourself. Better still, both.

For rough comparison, Homebase have a barstool with seat size 41x39cm, while a similar Ikea one is 40x51cm

What about some wooden bar stools. I found some cool ones at Macy's that I wanted to buy, but it didn't fit my style. I'm very picky! But maybe they will suit yours. Have a look, and tell me what you think. Still haven't bought mine yet so my breakfast bar is laying empty just now.
