Galway Bay Golf Resort Subs

Moving to Galway and looking for a club. Anyone know what the "unofficial" subs are. The site lists it as 950 annually but in the "current economic" climate I imagine this is negotiable. Anyone done any negotiating? What's the best way to go about it with this or any other golf club.

Galway Bay is a great course but its a terrible club, hotel closed down, very few members etc.....you would be better off in Athenry, good course with a very active membership!!
