you need to get tickets first(they can sell for up 2 $15000 for the week), if you can get them then it will cost around $2000 for a place to stay for the week within 3hours of the place , i went to college in alabama so i priced a few times.then what ever the flights cost. i hope that helps

Yeah it's the tickets really, you could sell some organs or redden yourself raw with donations to cover the cost of travel and accommodation, but getting hands on the tickets is the hard part.

Just about every golfer and golf fan in the world has the same dream as you.

What I would do to hide out in the trees at the top of the hill on 13 and watch the boys go by. :pac:

I think they've only opened applications for tickets twice in the last 20 years or so. Could be totally wrong in that statement but at the same time they are pretty impossible to get!

As for the flights look up Delta Dublin/Atlanta start looking in January you might need to be prepared to go & come on certain dates just outside of masters week, to get the best value,

Think I have got myself two 4 day badges for next year. Accommodation looks to be a problem though - there are hardly any hotels and as you can imagine, rooms book out well in advance.

Do you mind me asking how? And how much?

The list of patrons who regularly receive applications for Series Badges, which grant Thursday-Sunday admittance, has been closed since 1971. A waiting list was then established, closed in 1978, re-opened briefly in 2000, and has now been exhausted through the reallocation of attrited tickets.

Your best bet would be to check back here in a few weeks. They should put up a portal that allows you to apply for the 2013 tickets. Check the Ticket info and FAQ section though. Closing dates for application were in June last year so keep a close eye on it.

You have to be over 21 to apply, only one application per household, tickets are $75 and it goes on.

I'd love to go to it but I'll have to wait a few years. The Open is so much easier to get to. Just walk up on the day and pay £25 and within 10 minutes you're standing beside Tiger or Phil while they're taking a shot.

They are a gift from someone who has ALOT of contacts. I have no idea of the price. One thing I am sure of though, is that I will probably be the poorest patron there!! :D

Was lucky enough to attend all 4 days of the Masters in 2012 with tickets from a patron who emigrated to the States back in the 40's. I flew from Dublin to Philadelphia waited 2 hours got another flight to Columbia Airport N.C. collected a hired car drove 15 mins down the road to stay in a Best Western Sterling Hotel in a place called Charlotte. Drove down each day to Augusta on the motorway approx 20 mins from the hotel..no holdups and great car parking facilities with no charge. Once you get in it's like heaven....sandwiches $1.50 and cold drinks/beer $1.00/$1.50. Going back in 2013. Check out, just an idea for you.

I actually looked at Charlotte there last week and thought it might be a good base location. I'm surprised you didn't encounter much traffic to/from the course - sounds perfect.
Just a question regarding phones.. are they really that strict? Obviously I will have mine turned off but I would like to have it with me to use when I'm not at the course.

Over the last numbers the Augusta National has bought out a large number of residents houses adjacent to the course ,demolish them and have constructed a huge car park in what appears to be a plantation/forest area which hold up to 10,000 cars. There are about 6 householders still holding out....name your price . There are hundred's of car park attendants directing cars in and out. Coming down from Charlotte you hit a roundabout turn left go up the hill for 400 yards with the police directing you into the car parks. There are no tailback's seriously.
What I did notice was that if Tiger and Phil are not performing the patrons were leaving early in there droves. I never seen anyone using a mobile phone on any of the 4 days. All small bags were searched similar to airports . Don't risk bringing one in!

Cheers for the tips mac - some good info there. Glad to hear the parking is so hassle free and yeah... think the phone will stay at the hotel!

Was that you mcdonagh in the wexford football top, Snowdrifts if you try to go through with a phone on tournament days it will be confiscated (I am nearly sure they allow them on the practise days), although there is a place at the gates that you can kinds rent a locker to store your things in, bear in mind your phone will only work over there if it is at least tri-band,

Received my email today to inform me my application was unsuccessful

Absolutely devastated as I thought it was a sure thing

Online if you do a google search there are plenty of sports travel websites quoting prices anywhere from $4,000-$10,000 for a 4/5 day package including accomodation, Tickets, transfers and full board. You would have to book your own flights though.
