Alternative Engineering Career Paths

I'm about to graduate from an Engineering course (Applied Physics & Instrumentation) in the next few months. Judging by previous graduates it seems like most end up in the pharma or oil and gas industries. Just wondering if anyone could suggest any career paths less traveled. Not that I think these industries would be bad, I'm sure they can be rewarding but I'm in the middle of weighing up my options at the minute and wanted to consider all possibilities. Not sure what I have in mind, just putting it out there...
