I have a tax credit certificate from 2008 and no P45. I havent worked since 2008.
My new employer is requesting a tax credit certificate or P45...

Will this tax credit certificate do or do I need to apply for a new one?
    thanks

nah, your best bet is to ring your nearest tax office, give them your PPS number, your new employer's Registered Number and ask them to send you out an up to date tax cert.

Your cert from 2008 wouldn't be any use to you - also tax certs for 2012 also have USC details as well as tax details, which you'll need.
