    Hey,

Hoping some techy can help me:D

Hadn't used my Zen in a while and it was in Recovery Mode when I went to use it. Long story short had to do a firmware upgrade and it died during the process. The player won't turn on or do anything, PC is picking up a USB device but not the Zen, just showing as ROM Recovery. I've tried most suggested things and nothing seems to work, any ideas?

Tried it and most things on the site, nothing works.

    Thanks for the suggestion.

you don't say which Creative Zen model you have. Does it a have a reset hole. Make sure it's connected to the PC when resetting. Resetting should put it back to the default firmware.

You say you've tried "most suggested things", what things ? So we don't ask you to try them.

It's the 4GB model, tried leaving it charging for a few hours. Tried reset, holding the on/off switch while holding the play button etc. I've taken it apart, put it back together.

It's showing as Rom Recovery, I can hear a ping from my laptop when I hit reset like it's picking up a USB connection but that's it

I didn't read through these links and I'm aware they are for different models but the steps for one will often work for another.
Mine died a couple of times and I had to send it back to creative - they just sent me out a new one so both times I lost anything that was stored on it.
