    Hi All,

Donore Harriers will be hosting the annual Donore Summer 5k Race once again in the Phoenix Park, starting at 11am on Saturday 9th June 2012. The route is as last year - starting on Furze Road and ending close to the Triangle at Chapelizod Gate. The race will once again incorporate our 3K dash for cash feature (subject to race rules). The route is accurately measured with a Jones counter and has an AAI permit. There will be a cordened-off section at the front at the start dedicated to club runners. The event will have chip timing and refreshments back at the club afterwards.

Online entries are now on Active Europe here. Details of the route and other information are also available on the Donore Harriers website.
If you've any questions please feel free to contact info@donoreharriers.com.

Looking forward to seeing you on the day.

There are strong rumours that the baked goods at this years race will be better than previous Donore events.

Is this overall, a downhill course?

Is this overall, a downhill course?

Yes, by about 30m. But that last mile...

Last year that last mile was a killer! Whatever about the hill, there was a gale force wind into your face! Overall not a bad course once you keep in mind that the final mile is tough, the 30m net downhill is balanced out by the final hill.

But it was a very good race, races like this would make me never want to do a race again that is not hosted by an athletics club ha!

Thanks for the kind words Timmaay.

It is with regret however that I post the following:

Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances associated with staging this years event we have had to make the regrettable decision to cancel the event. We apologise to anyone who has entered the race to date, you will have been emailed already and you will receive a full refund. We look forward to seeing you at some of our future events and thank you for your support.
