closing a business

    I am director of a company that cessed trading in may 2011.
    I want to close the company.
    Do i have to do full annual returns for 2011?

    after i have the annual returns done how difficult is it to go about closing the company?
    can i do it myself through the CRO or do i have to get an accountant to do it?

    You would have to give more details before we could give you an answer, eg are accounts up to date, are there any assets in the company. This will determine how you can close the company eg voluntary strike off etc.
