Help requested on where to start - architect designed small extension?

I would like to add a small extension (14ft by 8ft) onto the house (although small it makes a good addition to the living space as it enables a seating area in the kitchen/diner which is really the hub of the house – large enough for a couch but not too large so as we never use the lounge!)

The area I want to add it onto is a typical dining room set of patio doors.
Basically I want to know whats possible - I could just stick a conservatory on the back but I would prefer something more interesting that really makes the room.

Even in such a small extension I believe a good architect can create something different to a blockwork box with patio doors on the end that may leave the current dining space dark.

The question is really where to start – it isn’t a trade I’m familiar with and there are several thousand people proporting to be good architects.
Having read about it in the times over the weekend I am considering this <snip> as a starter – I would appreciate any thoughts.

Would love to receive pm recommendations from people or hear from architects themselves with links to examples of work etc.

Ultimately any advice as I set out on this process would be appreciated – especially guidance on wheres the best place to start.

    Thanks

That looks fantastic - let me have the architects details for when i renovate my shed!

I have attached a photo to this post to better articulate what im looking for - the house backs onto open countryside so i want something that makes the most of the views etc but also looks good and blends with the house.

So far have had very little interest - is it too small a job for an architect/tech to be bothered with? Have usually had success with boards before for recommendations/tradesman but if theres nothing here I will give up and contact riai.

    Thanks
