Video Card Fan roaring

    Hi,

Last night I accidently kicked the power cable out of my HP Pavillion PC. When I started it up again the fan went @ 100% and wouldn't shut off - its seriously noisy.

I downloaded and installed the latest version of the video card driver - NVIDIA GeForce GT220 driver but this did not help - fan is still roaring.

I had this issue before when I re-installed windows 7 - graphics card driver wasn't installed and when I did install it, the fan stopped roaring.

Has anyone here any idea how one can fix this issue?

    Thanks a lot,

    Mike

What is it roaring about? :D

    Serious Answer:
Try reseating the card in the PCIe slot.

    bandit,

Did that and that sorted it. I think must have dislodged it when I kicked out the power cable. Fine now - it has shut up again :)

    Thanks for your help.

    Mike
