New TCDWifi Proxy Authentication Service?

Just noticed this morning that instead of the familiar old pop-up box I get a "keepalive" redirect page which only seems to authenticate the current tab (in IE or Chrome). It doesn't seem to like ctrl-clicking anyways. Any way to fix this? Is this the new-and-improved TCDWifi I vaguely remember being alluded to in an email a few days ago?

Yes, this is the new system. You have to keep the authenticated tab open to access internet services; the benefit is that you shouldn't get popups anywhere else. You can pin the tab to one corner in Chrome/Firefox.

Grand thanks, in retrospect I should probably have read that email properly, ISS say keep the tab open in big bold text on their site :o. Seems to be working ok now!

...even though I keep the tab open. I end up having to close all my tabs and restart firefox. Sometimes I have to wait a few mins in between closing and opening for the keep proxy alive page to show. Incredibly annoying! Nice idea, but it's not working perfectly yet. (I'm connected by ethernet.)

This isn't working properly for me either. It keeps on dropping every now and then and I have to login again. It's also really annoying for someone who likes to keep their tabs neat and not have any extra windows open.

I log on fine, then when the page reloads I get SSL errors. It's annoying when you click on a link and it redirects you to the login page which makes you lose your original destination.

Seems to have calmed down now. Might just be because less people are on the network at this time.
