I just have a question and I'll try best to explain what I'm looking for. Has anyone ever seen what looks like two thin but heavy duty cables running across the road for the purposes of data collection within urban areas and motorways. I'm wondering who carries out these tests and would it be possible to get ones hands on the data for data modelling purposes.

The NRA traffic counts on their website come from permanent coils in the road.

Cables across the road are usually done for planning, either by the NRA (but won't be on their website), the NTA, the council or sometimes private developers - but not often now.

Yeah, I just meant the NRA would be a good body to contact.
