    Hi,

I am having a lot of trouble finding a really nice, stylish and affordable headboard. The online search is returning the same online stores over and over again.

Does anyone know of any places where I could get a nice looking headboard? Especially online but I will consider any other places in the midlands or even Dublin. I am looking for a tall, fabric, probably deep buttoned that won't cost an eye and a leg.

    Thanks!

Bargaintown,Des Kelly,Harvey Norman and various other furniture stores.

I got a lovely king sized large brown leather headboard from CP Furniture for a mere 70 euro.

They are in a very small village called Eighter, about 5 miles up the road from Virginia,County Cavan.:)

Would you consider going to a local curtain maker or upholsterer. I know a lot of the interior designers could make them up, but not sure of the cost.

I emailed Aspire Design. Found them by luck and got a response, will see what the designer says.

@ funky mum -I am not even sure where to find a recommended local upholsterer in my area. There was one in a local market but he disappeared.

If anyone has experience with one in the Longford/Athlone/Mullingar area, please let me know :)

@ paddy147 - Thanks for throwing in the names, I will look them up. Not keen on Harvey Norman though. I get dizzy with their tv ads :D

Looking for a headboard too so would be very interested in how you got on with Aspire? Did you finally get one and were you happy with it?

I'm going to see NewBridge Upholsterys work on saturday week.

They were recommended to us by the interior designer we worked with.

Got a quote for a design that's coming in at 1/3 the price of other places.

No association with them at all, can't comment on their work but the recommendation does carry weight with us.

Will definintely respond back if we go ahead.

Furniture outlet behind woodies on the naas road specialize in these. Hundreds of fabrics and only 199 for a double one that's 4 foot high. Normal heights from about 70 euro. I know this cos my brother works there.

From what I can see anything online or off the shelf will come in a limited range of fabrics usually cream. You will probably have to get something made. I got one from a company not far from Mullingar and they had a large deep buttoned one in their show house for you to see http://lornaogrowney.com

If you are ever down the west, I used this lady to make my headboard for one of my guest rooms.

I don't know if she is still trading, but I am a great believer in using all the local talent and keeping the money in country.

This is a link to her face book page.
