This happens a lot on jobs.ie, I think they are false jobs just to try fill out the site..

The jobs for a main chain tho so who knows but i think your right. But would there be a problem with applying again. I was in actual contact with a member of HR and they told me they would contact me in due course but it's been like a week and now i see the job posted again

I would leave it. A week really isn't long in the scheme of things and you don't want to come across as a stalker!:D

You call it stalking I call it eagerness :p haha, yeah i guess your right buuut the fact the same job has been posted again?

I wouldn't read too much into it TBH...

Very often, ads like this are left up for some time to get as wide a pool of candidates as possible. Another possibility is that they do indeed have candidates in mind, but are slow to take the ad down.

I would leave it for a couple of weeks as I say. If you get no response, then I would take it as an unsuccessful application.

A lot of companies do not reply to applications due to the quantity received.

I would contact the person in Hr asking simply what is the status of your application. You would be amazed how forgetful some recruiters/hr managers are

Really ye? I have a direct contact through e-mail but seems a bit lazy and might seem more like being a pest than being eager? I know with this company they send out a standard unsuccessful e-mail if you don't get interview which I still haven't got yet so, should i just ask when a decision will be made? Could I even e-mail from a different e-mail address, just asking when decision will be made on those who applied?

I know quite a lot about online recruitment so I can give you some advice..

    1) If the job is not from an agency you can be nearly certain it is real. (Also, not all agency jobs are fake!)
    2) The job may have been automatically bumped by the Jobs.ie staff, or the company may have bumped it. Why? Because they want to get as many CVs as possible.
    3) Your application may have been rejected by Jobs.ie. This is part of their value added service -- reject clearly unsuitable applications. Note the employer can log into their account and see the rejected applications if they wish.
    4) One week is not a long time to wait. Most likely scenario is they want to wait to see what other CVs they will receive. Other scenarios are the hiring manager is busy, or on holidays, or sick. So be patient.
    5) They may be the type of company who don't bother sending a PFO to unsuccessful applicants.

My advice to you is stop worrying. Worrying is pointless. :)

    For now anyway.

If you don't hear anything for another two weeks you could give the company a ring...
