Hey, I need to replace a 2 button mechanism on my toilet. The brand name on the sistern lid is G & H. I haven't been able to find this crowd on internet anywhere. I brought the broken button into a bathroom sales place, and they said they had never heard of them. They also commented on the size of the button (47 mm wide), saying standard sizes are 10 mm narrower.

They suggested making a washer that would sit over the hole in the cistern lid to accomodate the smaller sized flushers. My question is, has anyone ever heard of G & H, and if so, where could i go to get a replacement. I know making the washer is not a big job, but first option would be to replace like for like.

Can you post a picture of what you're looking for? Put something beside it for scale.

Vaguely remember a G&H that were based in Ballycoolin more or less directly opposite Usher Bathrooms. Thats about 5 years ago when they were also doing POD manufacturing in the IDA park just up from the Aquatic centre. Dunno if they're still going.

Your bang on. Except they never got into the pods. They are gone now.

You wont even get standard fittings to fit if its the wide button. Cheaper to buy a b&q toilet.

G&H = Gaynor and Hanley also called cilantro

fyi i never rated there stuff. In fact i could say a lot of negative things about them if i wanted.

Hey guys I was searching for a replacement sistern for a g&h toilet and stumbled across this thread. A crack has formed in mine and it won't be long till it lets out water. Am I better off replacing the whole toilet or is there anywhere I could get hold of a repacement sistern? The rest of the toilet is fine. I've attached a photo.

Ah yes G&H. All that stuff was branded as designer sanitary ware in the boom, bad mouthing Shires, Armitage and Twyfords, but where are they now at the bottom of a land fill:)

new guts or new cistern anyway.
universal new guts for the job is the fluidmaster dual flush valve off the shelf in wherever you get a good salesman who will stock it or find it for you. as it says on the box fits inch and a half and two inch outlets

Just keep an eye on the crack. It should not grow any more where it is. Just check its above the water line. If not then adjust the filler valve. Although to be honest i think from the picture it looks safe

Yip. Same crowd. They also broght us 2" (yip thats 2") outlets of the back of the toilets and wanted me to supply them with a 4" x 2" pan connector x 150. Ooooch. costly mistake.

You will pick up a "bog in a box" for about 70-80 euro if you look around.

BnQ were selling modern ones off 2 weekends ago for 75 euro.

Dont know if theres any left though
