Blackberry playbook - HELP!!!!!!!!!!

I'll try and keep this brief - apologies beforehand if I don't.

Got a BB Playbook tablet 3 weeks ago as a present. Set it up on home WIFI network. All seemed to be going well.
Then the WIFI signal dropped and I lost signal on my laptop (Tosihiba) and my BB. Fiddled about with the settings for a few DAYS (!!!!!!!) and eventually got it restored to the point that I could use one or the other on the WIFI at home. Rang service provider to ensure modem is working fine - it is.
Anyway, for the last few days both have been working well together. Got a notification from BB that an update was needed for the tablet. So I connected the tablet to the laptop and followed the instructions.

NOW- the tablet is stuck at the BB Agreement page. Will not move beyond this. Totally useless now.
Just wondering if anyone else out there with a BB Playbook if they have had similar issues and how to resolve. Otherwise I have a very expensive paper weight.

Try a hard reset. Hold down the power button and volume up button until screen goes black. Let it reboot and try again. Have you UPC broadband?

From a BB forum when i had a similar issue

    1. fire up your bb desktop manager
    2. plug in your PB while still on
    3. now reset the PB by holding down the power button until it reboots.
    4. when it reboots the desktop manager will show an error, click on the update icon. Desktop manager will now unbrick your PB. It will take about 25 min to unbrick. The PB will do its thing. When the PB comes back to life proceed with the setup process. The PB should let you complete the setup now. Hope that helps.

    Guys,

Thanks for the reply. I've treid the unbricking at least a dozen times now but I will try once more tonight from a different WIFI connection.
I'm with vodafone not that I'm sure it makes any difference but I'll be trying it from an Eircom connection later.
    Lets see what happens.

Unless Vodafone actually came out and looking at your modem / router they have no way of knowing its working correctly so you got blagged there. UPC are able to do this but most BB companies cannot all they would know is that a connection was established but the WiFi etc.. could be fried while the modem works away.
