Never have, never will......most heavies make Alpha as its a size able fuel penalty taxing upto the RWY 06 threshold head to do the 180 degree turn and back. If ATC is busy re aircraft on approach to rwy 24and you miss Alpha the following aircraft can expect to go around...... Hence my comment from experience.

Great video and love the radio chatter.

I think that was a 13 hour flight from Chile :)

Bearcat if ATC wanted him to make taxiway A, they probably would have told him if another aircraft was following close behind on the approach.

Yep it was a long spin. 12 hours 40 mins to be precise. There was no following traffic at all and ATC didn't place any restrictions on him as to what taxiway to use.

Was next to an ANA 787 in Frankfurt yesterday. Was painted up in ANA markings, but had 787 in huge letterings on the front, I presume it's a prototype in testing?

Not a prototype in testing... The 787 entered service with ANA last October ..
I believe the one you saw was the first 787 to be delivered ....http://boeing.mediaroom.com/index.php?s=13&item=1633

ANA had the first two aircraft in a special livery as they were the launch customer.

Front end looks the same, but the tail is far less painted.

WingCode on the one I saw appears to be JA805A.

[A little hunting later, third one delivered.

I saw a pic of the first 2 to be delivered, they had the more elaborate livery. Maybe ANA are going with the livery you saw for the rest of the fleet.

EDIT: Looking at airliners.net: Saw pics 7 different ANA B787's. JA801A and JA802A are in the fancy livery. JA803A-JA807A are the same as what Manic saw at FRA.
