Thanks Tony. I changed it there for you. It was in fact 6 x 800m.

Hoping to do this 5k. Have only done a few 5k's and 10k's so new to the runnning events. PB for 5k was 19:54 in the Patsy Kelly last weekend which was a great event. I'm gearing myself towards the half marathon in dundalk, i'm up to 11 miles but also enjoy sprint duathlons.

Not sure which is the best way to run these events! Should i go hard at the start and see what happens or keep at a steady pace the whole way around, thats what i did for the Patsy Kelly event. Can any of you more experienced runners give me any advise which would be greatly appreciated.

19.54 is good for someone new. It is hard to advise not knowing your background/age/current training levels etc. I am no expert but just be careful of the 1st K in Mountpleasant. It is quite fast to the Ballymac roundabout and the 4th K is uphill from the Ballymac turn so save something for the downhill finish. It is a quite similar course to the PK 5K so you should be close to your PB. Maybe if you get another one or two races under your belt you could experiment and try and go out a bit faster for a 5K. The Seatown and Carlingford 5Ks are quicker courses so try and target one of those later in the Summer.
