I have a cousin finishing collage in a little while and she is looking for some simple night work to get her by for maybe 6 months.

Anyone know of any agencies etc looking to recruit night staff for Night packing jobs or any other sort of night work?

Are Tescos, superquinn looking for people on and off for night shifts?

    Cheers

it's worth handing in a cv to tesco etc, but i havent heard of any vacancies or temp contracts in a long time.

Would they have experience of retail / night work? this would help.

When you say 'night packing', what exactly do you mean?

Many of the warehouses that supply the supermarkets mostly work night shifts, but as far as I'm aware many of the employee's are burly lads from eastern Europe and the occasional Irishman. Its shockingly poorly paid and its very hard work.

There aren't that many 24 hour supermarkets in Ireland either and the ones that are probably won't let you designate night work only.

If its night work she is after then she should try to get work in a pub. Best all rounder. The tips aren't bad if you work in a touristy spot such as Templebar.

Most warehouses don't work night shift but rather early morning shifts say starting at 5am and finish at 1pm. Pay is around €9 to €14 depending on previous skills such as a forklift license.

It can be very physical work usually with a "pick rate" you must meet. It will keep you fit and strong tho. And you work 5 out of 7 days so you can pick days two weeks in advance you want free.
