I need to get a new TV with the following features.

    Budget 350euros
    32in
    Saorview approved
    Pc Monitor connectivity
Usb movie playback - mkv files if possible
    2 or more HdmI ports
    Epg
Dvd player( this is not a deal breaker as I presume a dvd player bought seperately would have much beter features than the one built into a tv)

I have found some very good Tvs while searching the net but there is always something missing e.g either a Usb port or no Dvd Player.

If someone could help me find a Tv that has the features above It would be a great help .

    Thanks

Although a DVD player would be nice as it keeps the unit compact, you genearlly lose out on other features as they're designed as bedroom TV's. You can buy a blu-ray player for about €80 now so I'd buy it seperately.

I have a Sony which as far as I know doesn't play.mkv files since Sony also own movie studios, and .mkv files are used for one reason only. I doubt any Sony plays .mkv. I think the higher end Samaungs play them however.

Everything else should be pretty standard, almost all TV's sold(including online) are mp4/mheg5 compatible . I have 3 LG monitors/tv's and they're pretty good for the price.

Thanks Kevin, whats the difference between blu ray and dvd players?

They are more pricey than I thought they would be. It makes it quite expensive if I get a TV without DVD for 350euro

I might go for a smaller Tv with Dvd.

If I do buy a seperate blu ray player can you recommend one and what features should I look for.

    Thanks again

can anyone tell me if TVs from the following are worth considering

    Walker (power city)
    Hannspree
    Nordmeinde
    Technika (tesco)

they are a good bit cheaper than the likes of Lg,Sony,Toshiba and Samsung who I have been looking at.

Is the picture quality so inferior that I should stay away from them,.
