It's no April Fool joke. They split two years ago when he was caught cheating. Limped on and tried to mend it. Apparently they said they split in Novemeber 2011; only making it official now.

I feel sorry for Ronan. She is no better than a low class prostitute taking all that money from him €15,000,000 !!! Jackpot for her. Has anyone thought if only she "put out" a little more often maybe he wouldnt have strayed ?? Just my opinion which is a little bit the opposite to the popular consensous.

How could you feel sorry for him? Seriously he cheated on his wife with someone who so what sold her story to any tabloid that wanted it. He made his own bed if you pardon the pun so let him lie in it.

Yvonne Keating stayed true to her marriage vows. She was the dutiful wife to Ronan, mother of his children and imo a real lady compared to the floozy Ronan slept with behind her back. Yvonne didn't seem to like the media intrusion either. I'm not totally against Ronan but if he wasn't happy in his marriage he should have just ended it there and then without the deceit of a full blown affair.

Its perfectly ok to be against Ronan.

I still enjoy some of his music, particularly the songs he wrote himself but the bottom line is this.

Yvonne was faithful to him and remained so for their 14 years of marriage. Ronan knew that and he should have done the same in return, there is no excuse for his cheating, when did Yvonne ever do it to him?

I can see Ronan living on his own for the next while up in his pad in Kilcock playing golf and coming home to see what is really like without Yvonne. Maybe then and only then he will see what he's done wrong, not that she will take him back but it might at least give him a perspective on what he has caused.

Well said. At the end of the day he's not a celebrity to his family but he has let them down as well as himself. His kids won't have daddy as a constant figure in their lives anymore. They're the true victims in this. Yvonne can move on and find someone worthy of her but their kids won't have anything to really make up for the hurt Ronan has caused.

You have no idea if she has cheated on him or not. No one knows what goes on between any couple. She decided to stick with him at the time and made a very public display having that tattoo done.
He was an idiot but some young girl tempted him and he could not resist, it happens to the best of men and women. Affairs happen, it's life no one sets out to deceive their partners.

Very true in what you say. No one can ever know what goes on in someone's marriage its private and if their are problems then an affair can happen, he doesn;t come across as a serial womaniser just some one that made a big mistake and regrets it.

They have tried hard to stay together, and considering how much they have done together as a family even though they split up at the end of last year shows that they must have a good friendship and are determined to be good parents to their children. Who knows what their underlining problems are, one can only assume it is a "private" thing because they seem to care a lot about one another despite everything that has happened between them.

According to the reporter on tv last night he is not even planning to move out of the family home, and there is no talk of a divorce even. So maybe they are choosing to stay as a family untill the kids are of age.

Again I don't think anyone has the right to pass judgment on someone's marriage, when you can have no possible idea as to whats really going on inside it.

So basically this "split" is to let everyone know they are no longer sleeping together. If they never issued a separation notice in 2010 (twice) and now this one, no one on earth would be the wiser.

True, however I think that its all down to her, I'm sure that Ronan would rather have not issued anything and just kept it quiet, afterall its him that had to be out in the limelight talking about things. It is a bit of a wierd though, in the Independent they seem to indicate their problems are in the bedroom. Could be whatever sent him in the direction of the dancer was still there now which maybe why their marriage is still not working.
