Anybody heading for this today?. Is it a show or a sale, and do you have to pay in, although you may be a potential buyer?
Arrived there after 5 last year, everyone packing up, seemed to be the usual crowd of dreamers selling overpriced cars.

We've been going to this the last few years now and it's always pretty good. Classics don't pay in to be in the field but if you want to exhibit your car for sale inside there's a fee. Nothing stopping you from putting a for sale sign on your car outside though.

What would you be doing going to any show at 5pm? Most shows start thinning out from 3pm.

Work commitments interfering with passtime. For the last few years, by the time I locked up at work and got covers off car and drove to Swords most of the show cars were gone and only a few 'sale' cars remaining inside in building. This year had a chance to go earlier, which is why I asked the original question.
Went to a similar show /sale before, may have been City West, with the intention of looking at a car to buy but was asked for an admission fee. Not many car dealers / sellers charge an admission fee to view goods for sale. I don't object to paying an admission fee to a car show, as they are costly to run and organise, also an enjoyable day out, but object to paying into a 'sale'

They were charging €10 a head in to spectators.

The autojumble/car sale in Kilkenny charge €5 per head regardless of what you arrive in.
They also start at 11 am to try get you to buy lunch in the canteen:(

That white e-type reminds me why I occasionally do the lotto.

Anything good for sale at a decent price?

The usual, some reasonable, some dreamers, little or no bargains. Nice turnout though! :)

That's the new import reg system. Any Dublin imports now start at 120k.

heres something Weird the number on the SS is 69 D 120001 are they doing it where the numbers are allotted sequentially and the year identifier is superflous?

    ie

    69 D 120001
    XX D 120002
    32 D 120003
    XX D 120004

No they are not doing it in that way, each import should start at 120001 regardless of year eg, 71D120001 is a Honda motorcycle, 86D120001 is a motorcycle and 65D120001 is a vespa scooter also.
Such idiotic sized reg numbers even for motorcycles.

I assume ZV is still an option? This number ruins a car. Just looks way out!

Maybe converted to 5 digit ZVs when the registrants found out how long the county ones where

Well I was thinking "after the event", as they could of just asked for ZVs in the first place.

I'm just considering why "120001" and "120002" are "missing"

does anything actually sell at these events or are they more of a show. Never been to one...

I think they've become more show than sales over the last couple of years but yeah, some stuff does shift alright.

A lot of cars sell as a result of initial contacts/looking over that occurs at these shows but it is rare for cash to change hands on the spot...
