How to get plumber back??

Hi guys, I recently gutted a 3 bed semi family home and employed a plumber to redo all the heating and plumbing through the bOoks. He stuck in a gunfross shower pump in attic and plumbed everything on to it even though I only wanted it for the shower/ bath. This pump makes a hell of a racket and I have it swited off most of the time. Good water pressure of 1-2 bar in the house so no real need of it for showering as mains and water tank high in the attic gives good enough pressure. Money passed over but plumber won't come back to have a look at redoing the pipe work saying that I asked for it this way! Did not ask for this at all as I understand a shower pump is for the shower! Ie it does what it says not the whole gaff!

    Any suggestions where to go?
    Cheers

I hate to hear stuff like this as it paints us all with the same brush.

After 3/4 phone calls I would wright a letter to him explaining what you said you wanted and what he gave you. I would then tell him if you don't get a satisfactory response you will take it further.

The next step would be a solicitors letter. Then court proceedings.

Also word of mouth is a powerful thing in this country so tell him this also.

Did he give you a detailed quote? I can't stress this enough with something like this because everyone is clear as day with each other. One I done I specified a 42x18 stainless steel cylinder he argued with me said he wanted a 48x18 cylinder, I asked him to take the breakdown out and there it was in black and white 42x18. It saved me in this case so it is something you can do, look back over the quote.
Let me know how you get.

I would avoid the solicitor, and just go for the small claims court

THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT and a tradesman that fails to recognise that fact should eventually run out of recommends and will have to start ADVERTISING!
Be wary of tradesmen that advertise.

60% of my work is word of mouth the other is from my website which in turn leads to word of mouth so I disagree a bit with that.
