I applied to them a number of years ago ... they didn't even interview me :(

have been working as a full-time professional photojournalist for a number of years since the missed their chance and have been published in all national newspapers in Ireland and some international papers/magazines, have travelled to various parts of europe for work and continue to work regularly (thank god !)

i applied a few times years ago, never got a reply to any email i sent or any acknowledgement of receiving my cv, decided i didnt want to work for a company that works like that!

ive only ever seen them handing out balloons and vouchers in shopping centres and mothercare, i think if you're good with kids youll be fine!!!

From what I guess it's a sales oriented role. You approach the customer and you carry out the photographic work. I was looking at some of their job descriptions online. Check it out and see what they're like but I'm guessing there's not going to be much photographic work, but I could be wrong.

    Thanks for the replies :)

It seems to be a sales related role anyway. I got an interview and travelled from cork city to limerick city to be at a 10am interview. Interview went grand, apart from the lady askin some questions I dont like to answer in interviews i.e. my age, my marital status, my living arrangement. She gave me a trial day the next day so i was delighted. Went to this trial day and it was all promotional work, which I dont mind as I have done stuff like this before and was approaching parents particularly with small children, who might like to get photos done. The girl I was doing the trial day with said she hasnt come close to photographing anyone and she's in the company 6 years!!

Since then though they have been giving me the run-around. The woman who interviewed me said she's not dealing with me anymore and the people she's directing me to wont answer phones or anythin

Hey Yellowcrayon, thanks for the reply so other boardies can get a heads up on this. I'm sorry to hear about your experience with Pixifoto, complete joke if you ask me. Usually most of the time, companies like this take on students, so it's easy for them to give the run around when it comes to trial days and so forth. I've experienced it myself with other companies and such.

Now I don't know if this will interest you but if you have a car it may work out. I know it's an internship but it involves photography and experience at a studio. It has been up about a month and I don't know how Job Bridge is about updating its site, but check it out anyway.

Thanks very much Pandaboy :)... Unfortunately I dont drive, and im not on social welfare to do the Jobbridge scheme, but im defo gonna look into it :)

I actually got a call from them today to say they wont be hiring me, after doing a trial day and having the sales, promoting and childcare experience they required.. so a little bit annoyed about it

Ive noticed as well that companies will get students to do trial days (im not a student anymore, but im still pretty young). I discovered in one place I was doing a trial day in, that they were getting us young ones to do trial days just to do the work; this was in a hairdressers, so they were getting us clean their kitchen and do all the crappy work no one wanted to do; they'd only been doin it a few weeks, but there was a different girl in everyday and they told us all the same line after a 9 hour day... 'we've decided we're not going to be hiring anymore'
