A question on Apple TV mirroring

I set up ATV3 today for the first time and with mirroring enabled, sent a stored 2 minute video clip from the iphone 4S to it. The video buffered like a YouTube video over a mediocre internet connection (mine is 5MB max which is normally OK for downloads etc).

Im obviously not understanding the modus operandi here.....does mirroring happen essentially as a download? If so then won't it murder my muck 10GB eircom monthly allowance?

I always had the notion that mirroring was facilitated by the wifi signal but didn't burn any allowance. Apologies if the query is dumb.

    Many thanks.

It is a peer to peer connection between your ATV and iPhone over your Wifi connection, it doesn't use your internet at all.If you are seeing consistently poor quality you may need to look at your Wifi settings to ensure it is quick enough the connection.

Thanks. I have noticed a few glitches that you might shed some light on. I had to download a software patch to get eircom's Zyxel modem to allow home sharing and mirroring. It worked, but the home sharing is randomly disconnecting and I must turn it off and on again in iTunes to re-establish the link. Not sure what's going on.
