Should I take this internship?

    Hi,
looking for some thoughts on this.

I'm in college so I'm looking to get some work experience over the summer. I've plenty of qualifications on my CV but I lack experience so I thought an internship would be a good place to start at least.

So I saw an ad for a charity offering an internship over the summer. Seemed interesting so I e mailed off my CV and cover letter. The guy emailed me and and organised to come in for a chat about it. Great I thought.

Couldn't find how to get into the place when I showed up but the guy happened to be outside anyway. I said "hi I'm Bobby, I'm here about the internship you said to come in at 2"

The guy was a bit suprised and said he wasn't expecting me, hadn't read my CV or cover letter and basically forgot about the whole thing.

Thing was that they don't really have an office or anything so the "interview" took place on the bench outside.

Seems like a worthwhile charity and everything but I left feeling disapointed.

Any thoughts on should I take it up or look for something a bit better?

That it's for a charity is laudable and I imagine it would look great on your CV. with regards to gaining transferable skills it's hard to tell based on the info given.

    Thanks,
Yeah, it seems a good charity and everything but I've plenty of volunteer work on my CV already. They said I'd mostly be helping out with organising fundraisers. I'm looking to develop transferable skills but I'm not sure I can get that from this internship.
Just the way the interview went made a few alarm bells ring.
