Good cycling routes around Dublin???

Can anyone recommend some good cycling routes around Dublin (or the outer Dublin area for this weekend? I’m looking for a scenic route suitable for both racers and mountain bikes with nothing too crazy in terms of hill climbs.
Would the towpath from Dublin to Kildare be suitable?
Are there cycle paths around Glendalough in Wicklow that are suitable?
I’m just looking for a 3 – 4hr round trip route at a slow pace with some nice scenery that would have low traffic volumes.
    Cheers

    Along the coast?

    Where are you starting from?

City Centre - Fairview - Clontrarf - Sutton - Portmarnock - Malahide (did someone say coffee stop!)

Then either re-trace your route back (perhaps with a detour to Howth) or scoot back in along the Malahide Road if time is against you.

Hi JawGap - Cheers for this route. Fortuantley I live in this area and I do that route all the time. Its great! I was hoping to find a good scenic cycle route in south Dublin, wicklow, kildare or north county dublin. Have you ever tried this route?

    For a really scenic option
tallaght by pass, turn left at hazel grove golf club, blessington, wicklow gap, laragh, sally gap, glencree then drop into tallaght or straight to rathfarnham. About 100k and 1300 of climbing.

Lokking for a flatish 25k road or loop for tt'ing around kildare, need quiet and good roads and no lights etc, any ideas?

Hello ,just thought I'd carry on from this thread about a good cycling route from northside of dublin to wicklow.
I'm from glasnevin and was wondering if cycling through christchurch ,rathfarnham and by the yellow house was the easiest start ?

Just wondering what the roads are like from sutton to Portmarnock and Portmarnock to Malahide. Ive gone up as far as howth(hill climb) but thought the roads were not great to go any further??

The roads from Howth through Portmarnock and on to Malahide are fine. Do you mean you thought the roads were not great in terms of their condition or traffic ?
