New TV - 3d or not?

Thinking of upgrading my TV, but I'm just really unsure as to whether or not to go 3D. I watch some 3D stuff on my 3D monitor, but it'd be nice to be able to view it on the big screen. I've heard so many things regarding active and passive, with people generally saying active is better, but similarly people saying that 'good' passive is excellent also. This may sound like a dumb question, but if I play 3D content on my PC hooked up to a 3D tv does it play correctly? I have the Nvidia vision kit for my monitor, and find the active 3D good, but to be honest I've watched passive 3D and equally found it fine.

I was thinking something like this, at 579 that seems a good price. My current TV is a 40" Samsung LCD so I'd be aiming at anything from 42-50".

Also, I play my 360 quite a bit, and sound quality isn't important as it'll be hooked up to amp/speakers. So emphasis on image quality!

    Thanks!
