Hi, I am thinking of ditching Sky+ as I think it is overpriced and don't watch half of the useless stuff that is on it.
I currently have Sky+ in 1 room and the red eye connected to another room.
Is there any free feasible alternative to this setup where I can get the Irish and free UK channels and still be able to record?
(I do not have an aerial, only a Sky satellite dish)

    Thanks in advance

you will need to get an aerial if you want rte. (or get a setup for saorsat, More complicated)

have a look at the threads about the ferguson avira. has all the channels on one epg, its not as slick as sky , but no system is .

    Thanks John!
If I bought that Ferguson Ariva, is it a case of just swapping it out in place of the Sky+box, IE I wont need to go modifying the position of the Satellite dish?
Also, will the sky eye work on that box?

In relation to Saorsat, is there a dummies guide to getting that?
I'm finding the Saorview\Saorsat sticky thread hard to understand.

    Yes
No. Although one of these will do the job. (I would just get another combo if you use the tv in the second location a lot).

Thats why I didnt like to suggest saorsat.. :D not all the channels are on it anyway.
    document about saorsat.

You can get them on the computer at aertv.ie

there are about 8 channels. You might then be able to connect the computer to the TV if you have the right connections on both, or buy an adaptor cable.
