Just wondering what the average is? I only want an organ player no singer or anything else and i seem to be getting quoted awful money for what is essentially an hours work! I don't need them to learn anything new as it's all pretty regular stuff. Can somebody shed a little light on this for me. Thanks

250 seems to be the average rate from guys that I know. you may get a little cheaper by ringing enough people but I wouldnt be surprised if you seen higher prices either.

While you only see the hour, if you think about it, its a days work to them as they cant work anywhere else that day if theyre a professional organ player so try not to think about the hour.

Thanks i don't mind paying 250 but the lowest quote i have gotten is 400 from someone who does it as a sideline. I would assume that at a funeral they wouldn't charge that much. Just think it is a bit of a rip off to be honest.

400 seems high to me, especially if its a sideline thing. I suppose they have their rate though. Whereabouts? Dublin or country?

I know some people who charge up to 500 but they travel as 2 piece so you have a singer and a player so can do the maths.

I paid 150 or 200 for the organ player I think which was very reasonable beside the 400-600 i heard other people getting quoted.

Limerick area. Have you asked the priest? The churches Sunday organist may well be up to the task!

IN limerick myself. Think 150 to 250 is more than enough. To be frank we haven't got a whole lot of money and are having a small wedding anyway and I really don't want to give someone a large amount of money for a small amount of work. I already asked the local and he is away on holidays that week

If youre on a budget, would you consider playing recordings? you can get audio off youtube clips for anything specific you like or get specific tracks off one of the professional karaoke websites for 2 euro (theyre top quality). All you need is an mp3 player plugged in to the church system with someone able to press play at the required time. seen it done many times, noone ever seems to mind.
