WWE Draft 2012...maybe

    http://www.ringsidenews.com/news/exclusive-huge-news-on-the-2012-wwe-draft-plans/
Vince McMahon is starting to focus on what the WWE landscape will be after WrestleMania, and he's got his thought process on the annual draft.
"Vince knows he can keep Raw and Smackdown talent on both shows, since Raw is a Super Show now," a key WWE insider told us, "so in order to bring up the Smackdown house shows, how could it hurt to have (John) Cena or (Chris) Jericho on Smackdown, and have them appear on Raw and shoot the major angles there?"
Vince has noticed that even though the ratings have remained stagnant on Raw throughout the Rock vs Cena program (and Undertaker vs HHH program as well), the live events for Monday Night Raw have been selling out. "The brand split is pretty much over," we were told, "everyone appears on Monday nights. Vince wants the wealth spread around a little bit more to improve the bottom line."

Cena to SD would be good, new feuds for him with the likes of Bryan, Cody and Christian and Punk takes over as main face on Raw

I wouldn't want to be a big name on Raw moving to Smackdown its practically doubling your workload. Besides Punk & Miz not many Raw guys appear on Smackdown regularly. By any chance does the live gate increase this time every year or when Rock/Taker/Hbk started showing up.

It would be pointless sending Cena to Smackdown. He'd still be on Raw every weekend feud with Raw guys. It needs to be someone who will occasionally appear on Raw and does the majority of his work on Smackdown. I don't watch, but that seems to be how Orton works. Punk would probably be the only big name who could do that. So long as he is on the same brand as Cena, he'll never be the top guy.

Guys like Ziggler and Miz would also benefit from spending most of their time on Smackdown.

How do the house shows work? Do they run Raw and Smackdown shows concurrent with each other in different locations or do they have a Raw show one night and a Smackdown the next.

Also I'm not sure would Cena be too open to working Tuesday nights as well, With the kind of schedule he keeps with shows and promotional commitments he must value the little free time he gets.

So the Draft was meant to be next Monday but WWE didnt mention it. Meltzer wrote on his forum:
There may be a draft on June 11 Or there may not be a draft.

Orton vs Kane until the end of time so.

Do they need a draft anytime soon? All the SD guys can appear on Raw and a few Raw guys have ever started appearing on SD now too (example
    Brodus Clay
was on both shows this week)

    IN THEORY:

House shows: to freshen them up, balance out the number of babyfaces & heels

Fresh World Title matches on PPV: as they still respect draft boundaries there.

Maxine: She really wants get off the NXT island

Considering the brand split was essentially done away with last year, I cant see why their would be one. Does anybody really care who is on what show anymore? All the top Smackdown guys appear on Raw most weeks anyway.

House show rosters dont need a draft to be changed. They could just change them and nobody would really notice considering they mostly appear on the same shows anyway.

They run house shows seperatly in different towns. For example, last week, Smackdown was in Ireland while the Raw crew were off in Russia. Two sets of house shows = more money coming in.

As for Cena, he's always been a company man; if he was told he was going on SD, he'd do it without a second's though.

The whole draft concept is not exciting anymore.......it really died for me last year when Cena got drafted from raw to Smackdown, only to be drafted back to Raw at the end of the night.

I'd put Miz, Truth & Kofi over to smackdown, they get little tv time on Raw & would be better used on Smackdown.

Normally I am very careful with spoilers. But come on it is roster trades in 2012. Anyway:
Official explanation for a WWE change

On tonight's Smackdown show, it will be announced that Alberto Del Rio and Ricardo Rodriguez are now officially on the Smackdown brand. Apparently John Laurinaitis traded them to himself for future considerations.

    Wut?

Not surprising given he was touring with Sd already and is feuding with Sheamus.

Doesn't trade imply that someone went the other way in exchange?

well yeah but it doesn't have to be a person it can be for money or a tracksuit, anything really. In this case its in return for future considerations, whatever they are!

Wasnt their rumours of a stable happening with Del Rio at some stage with Hunico, Epico and Primo

I really think they need to start afresh with draft again to make it work properly. Talent strictly has to stay on their given brand. Referees have different uniform, single brand PPV's & different sets.

A few years ago it used to feel special if Triple H or whoever appeared on SmackDown. These days there's literally no split. The shows need to look different, feel different & have completely different talent.

Well WWE already copied TNA's Mexican America with Rosa, Primo and Epico, suppose they might as well create their own version of LAX :pac:

I agree in principle but WWE's roster isn't strong enough to support two separate brands. They have enough for a RAW and a Sunday night Heat type show :) Since WWE generally do a poor job at elevating mid-card talent, showcasing them more prominently isn't really productive or entertaining. There's no point in seeing Cody Rhodes beat Big Zeke for the 100th time.

TBH they'll never completely kill the RAW/SD divide due to separate touring schedules, but it's pretty much done for on TV. See they're both under the same corporate umbrella so i can never really get behind the split. They still have ads for each other's shows etc.

On a side note, the heel latino street thug gimmick needs to die. Just add fire and lots of it!

the only thing that they could really work on is to stop the main eventers clogging up time on two shows at once. Daniel Bryan, Sheamus and Del Rio don't need to appear on Raw and Smackdown in the same week. that would give other talent proper time for their segments, like y'know the Tag Champs who barely appear anymore
