I ordered an item online from Hong Kong about a month ago and it final arrived in to Ireland this week but is being held by customs all week and doesn't seem to be any progress ,it just says "ITEM SENT TO CUSTOMS" on An post tracking.

I have received goods from this company before and never had a problem with customs before and I am in a bit of a hurry to receive the items. The items are worth about €40 but the company usually marks the items as half the value on the package which I think could be why customs took it.

Is there anything I can do to speed receiving the items or anybody know how long it will take?

    My experience:

Ordered sat receivers from China, they marked them as DVD players with a value of €40.

Customs intercept parcel and open it, they send me a letter saying that I have to mail them the paypal invoice for the goods and they will deduce the customs value from that.

Once that is done they should be delivered next day and only released from postman when you give him the duty owed.

From memory it took about ten days from when tracking said "entered Ireland".

I ordered two items(one parcel) on Aliexpress and they were sent out on the 10/07 and left China on the 16/07. It was sent with China post to my home address. I was just wondering how long it will take to arrive and is there any way of checking to see if its in Ireland? I checked An Post and there is no tracking info, the last update on the parcel on 17track says its left China on the 16/07.

    Thanks in advance.

You should be getting them any day now. there is usually 2-3 weeks between the item leaving china and the item appearing on the an post website. I have two parcels from aliexpress that left china on the 18th and i am expecting them this week.

If you are buying several items from Ali where the total exceeds €22.00
it's best to split the purchases into separate packages/orders.
