I know its an old thread but thought I would revive it to ask a question. Our house is 5 1/2 years old and the wooden floors upstairs are extremely creaky. I mean very loud everywhere we step. One floorboard doesn't even seem to be balanced between 2 joists and bends when stood on. Does anyone know if Homebond will cover this.

Very very unlightly, you need to contact your solicitor to find out about cover. It is likely homebond will only cover structural problems.

are you sure your house has homebond inurance?

as PUT states, homebond will only cover:
    Structural Defects
Cover for 10 years in respect of the repair of major structural defects.

    Smoke Penetration / Water Ingress
Cover for 5 years in respect of remedial work in the event of water ingress / smoke penetration caused by major structural defects.

    Deposits & Stage Payments
Cover for Home Buyers for the loss of money deposited for the construction or purchase of a new home.

Sorry to bring this old thread up again, but I have a query...

I have damp stains appearing in front bedroom upstairs at chimley breast, Water can only be coming in from chimley someplace. We're in the house almost 8 years and its covered by homebond.

I rang the builders, but they tell me they don't cover this as its not structural damage, but probably storm damage and therefore not covered by them...

    Are they correct?

thx for any info on this...
