    Hi
Would appreciate any thoughts good or bad on design I came up with for my house. Its surrounded on the left side with 200yo oak trees and right is quite wild.

No previous experience in construction so learning as I go regarding everything.

Nobody here can give you any meaningful criticism on a design without all the information. We would need to digest the site in full before your design would make any sense.

People can therefore only comment on the very basic elevational appearance you have shown.

The sketches shown lack proportionality of scale. If the height of the windows on the timber clad section at ground floor and the doors on the other side on ground floor are supposed to reflect 2.1 - 2.4m height then the car port area in the middle only has a height of about 1.2m.

If the roof coverings are all the same what material is it as the centre section is flat.

There is no consistency in window ope sizes or shapes and no indication of orientation from appearance. There is no plans to get any idea of room location to comment on further.

    Cheers PCT,
Here is a panorama of site, with middle pretty much south facing. The front of house with balcony is south facing and very close a tree. Top floor is open plan kitchen dining/living with right side of house mainly bedrooms.
My architect is coming next week and hopefully they will have a better grasp on the fundamentals :)
